Stage 3: Scram Africa 2025

Stage 3 of Scram Africa 2025 will be remembered for the unexpected. Originally designed to take riders across the dramatic landscapes of Erg Cheggaga and Lake Iriki, the day’s adventure had to be reimagined due to extreme weather conditions.

Heavy rains in the preceding weeks had caused the lake and rivers to rise to dangerous levels. The route was left impassable, with riverbeds completely washed out and thick mud making the track impossible to safely ride. Prioritizing the safety of all participants, the decision was made to cancel the off-road stage and reroute the group by road to the next destination.

A Road Adventure Through Stunning Moroccan Landscapes

Even though the original off-road adventure had to be skipped, the group still experienced the striking beauty of Morocco. The alternate road route allowed riders to take in the varied landscapes, from desert plains to rocky outcrops, without risking dangerous crossings.

The stage became a journey of reflection, showcasing the unpredictable power of nature and the importance of flexibility and teamwork in true adventure riding. Riders still shared laughs, incredible scenery, and the strong sense of camaraderie that defines Scram Africa.

Looking Ahead to the Next Stage

Although the third stage didn’t go as originally planned, it provided a well-deserved break and reminded everyone that adventure motorcycling is as much about adapting to the unexpected as it is about the thrill of the ride. The group reached their hotel safely and prepared for the challenges to come in the following stages.

Stage 3 of Scram Africa 2025 taught a valuable lesson: in adventure, nature always has the final word.
